GDoc also provides GP telephone support to Gloucestershire Care Services' Rapid Response Team. Their staff can contact our team of doctors weekday evenings and around the clock at weekends should they need a doctor's advice and guidance for the patients they support at home.
GDoc also supplied the Rapid Response Team with a number of pieces of near-patient testing equipment and fund the comsummable cartridges for these on an ongoing basis. This equipment has been particularly successful in avoiding admissions to hospital for patients suspected of having sepsis or an acute kidney injury. It has had a success rate of around 70% saving these patients from an unnecessary trip into hospital and enabling the team to continue to support them at home.
