GDoc Ltd is the GP Provider Company for Gloucestershire. Formed in 2013, GDoc is a membership organisation and all 76 GP practices are shareholders. Its aim is to strengthen general practice by delivering safe, high quality and innovative primary care.
GDoc works with GPs across the county to ensure general practice is sustainable and responsive to local needs. Patients will always be at the heart of what we do and we will continue to use patient voices to help us deliver compassionate, patient-centred healthcare.
What we do?
Support for GP practices
GDoc provides a range of support to the sixteen newly formed GP clusters in the county. We have been able to help them develop their Sustainability and Transformation plans and to submit funding bids and to respond to tenders. We have also provided back-office support for projects from initiation through to implementation, including the provision of improved extended access.
Through the GDoc nursing service, practices can access expert nurses without the costs of recruitment or difficulties in retention. Our nurses provide specialist long-term condition management (as well as general practice nursing), reducing the workload of practice clinicians. They train practice nurses and help ensure that practices meet QOF targets and CQC standards
Directly Commissioned Services
As the county-wide GP Provider Company, GDoc provides other services for organisations, such as NHS Gloucestershire CCG, such as providing GPs at the front door of the hospital’s Emergency Department.
All 76 GP practices have now formed 16 geographical clusters to enable them to work at scale and provide new and innovative services for their patients. You can read about each locality and the work they are doing here.
