I trained as a GP in Gloucester. I was a partner in two city practices and represented Gloucester on the LMC for seven years. In 2008, I set up Gloucester GP Consortium with colleagues in the city and went on to be the medical director of Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust, before joining G DOC in 2016. I am a Clinical Associate to the New Care Models programme of NHS England and, until recently, the Care Quality Commission’s advisor on urgent care. I am a non-executive director of the MDDUS.

Before becoming a GP, I trained in emergency medicine and intensive care, with membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. I have an MA in medical law and ethics and have studied transformational change in healthcare at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

Allen Mawby was educated in South Wales, and studied for an honours degree in Accountancy and Economics at Sheffield University. After graduating he joined KPMG in Birmingham and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1973. Before taking up a career in industry Allen spent 3 years lecturing in finance at what is now Birmingham City University.
He moved into industry in 1978 as a finance director. Initially he worked in the medical and clothing fields within BTR and he led a successful management buyout of that business. During 1989 he moved into packaging and by a twist of fate he found himself again working for BTR firstly in the UK and then for 5 years in Melbourne where he was CFO of its packaging division. While he was in Australia he was on the Boards of businesses across Asia, including China, Australia, Europe and North America.
BTR sold its packaging division in 1999, and Allen moved back to Europe as the European CFO for Amcor, an Australian packaging company. In that role his responsibilities covered operations in most countries in Europe and America. Particularly he was project director for the establishment of a green field plant in Russia, and he was voted a finalist in the Finance Director of the year.
During his non – executive career he has worked with Private Equity on a number of large” due diligence” projects and has served as a non-executive on a number of manufacturing boards. He has been a non -executive director of a number of companies including the University of Gloucestershire, Universal Closures and the Forestry Stewardship Council. He has also acted as a mentor and coach on a number of executive development programmes.
He was one of the original directors of GDOC and has been Chairman for years. He is also a director of Equine Register a software development company
He is married to a retired GP and they have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. He enjoys all sport particularly skiing and golf, and is Chairman of a local cricket club and his parish council.

After training as a GP in Hackney, London, I spent a couple of years working in Malawi as a Palliative Care doctor.
I moved to Gloucestershire 10 years ago and worked for many years at the Sue Ryder Hospice in Leckhampton , until recently when I became clinical director of G DOC.
I am also the Lead GP for GHAC and Matson Lane Surgeries. Helping to achieve equity of health in our population is a crucial goal for me.

Dr Probert joined the practice in 2002. He has a particular interest in diabetes, paediatrics and sexual health. He is also interested in training and education and has been appointed an Honorary Teacher at the University of Bristol.

I have been a GP partner in the Forest of Dean for the last 16 years. I also work regular out of hours shifts in the locality. I play an active part in Cluster Group meetings and activities.
I have been a director of G DOC for the past four years and have been proud to be part of a team that has worked and continues to strive to support General Practices in the Forest of Dean and around Gloucestershire.

After completing a Law degree, Jim joined the Army and was commissioned as an Officer into the Intelligence Corps. His career varied between Intelligence Officer roles and employment as a Plans Officer. During his 27 years of Army service, he deployed to numerous countries and worked at every level from tactical support to specialist units through to national representation at NATO and United Nations forums. Jim was selected for promotion to Brigadier but decided to resign his commission in order to provide more stability for his two teenage children. Jim wanted a second career with the same vocational sense of purpose, and having worked closely with the NHS at the national and regional level at the start of the COVID pandemic, he was keen for an NHS facing role. We are delighted that Jim has joining the G DOC team.

I joined Deloitte in London after graduating from Nottingham University, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1986. Subsequently, I joined PwC gaining a wide variety of audit and consultancy experience as a manager in the Growing Business team.
I took a career break to raise a family and since my return to work, I have led sizeable finance teams in the housing and education sectors, joining G Doc in 2017. I was appointed to the Board in 2022 and now support G Doc in a strategic finance role.
