Nursing Team

Angela is a Respiratory Nurse Specialist with considerable experience in acute and chronic respiratory management. Angela worked as a Hospital Respiratory Nurse specialist with special interest in difficult to treat asthma and interstitial lung disease, and more recently leading the countywide home oxygen service for the past 5 years.
Angela is an autonomous practitioner employed across general practice, the community, acute Hospital settings, and higher education. Professional qualifications include RGN, BSc (Hons) in Respiratory management and non-medical prescribing.
Angela embraces patient education, the enhancement of patient self-management and the management of care. Importantly involving their carers and loved ones. Working collaboratively across health and social care. A member of the Association of Respiratory Nurses (ARN’s) and a supporter for the British Lung Foundation, Pulmonary Fibrosis society and local respiratory support groups.

I joined the G DOC Nursing Team 18 months ago after a very happy 25 years as a lead Practice Nurse. As a non-medical prescriber with qualifications in Triage, Minor Illness, Asthma, Specialist Practice Nursing and Sexual Health as well as substantial experience in travel health, diabetes and primary care. I felt well placed for the support which G DOC offers to practices. More recently, G DOC has enabled me to gain qualifications in COPD and ARTP spirometry. Using all these skills, I enjoy a variety of placements in different surgeries. It has been heartening to witness high standards of nursing care and I have found that being a G DOC nurse is an excellent way of sharing good practice.

I joined the GDOC nursing team in July 2021 and have enjoyed increasing my skills, confidence and experiencing different ways of working within primary care.
Having worked as a HCA for 10 years; as a community HCA and a HCA within a GP surgery, I went to UWE and qualified in 2020 and have since worked part time as a practice nurse at a local surgery.
Outside of work I have two children, dogs and horses which keep me busy!

Sonia has been working in healthcare for over 30 years and started her career as a Health Care Assistant in Southeast London. This work inspired her to become a Nurse and she went on to train at King’s College London University.

Sonia felt drawn to humanitarian aid and worked in high conflict areas such as DRC, Albania, and Burundi. She studied Tropical Medicine at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. This work functioned as a catalyst for Sonia’s interest in Public Health and upon returning to the UK she furthered her career in Primary Care, where she developed a keen interest in respiratory disease.

Sonia has been working as a respiratory specialist nurse across Gloucestershire with G DOC LTD since 2015. During this time, she acquired masters level qualifications to support this role. She then went on to become the Respiratory Champion for Gloucester Inner City PCN; a role that grew and included becoming the clinical lead on a large respiratory Quality Improvement Project. She won the ARNS award for ‘Respiratory Excellence’ in 2023. Sonia particularly enjoys the training and mentoring aspect of her work, especially inspiring colleagues to further their journey in respiratory care.
